Black Women Lawyers Young lawyers Committee will be hosting a student loan workshop titled "Key Strategies for Managing Student Loans & Its Impact on Your Legal Career" at Sheppard Mullin in their Los Angeles Office. The guest speaker's name is Jay Fleischman. He is a consumer law attorney with over 22 years of experience helping students with student loan legal issues. He also has a weekly podcast called "The Student Loan Show," which provides individuals with advice on how to get out of default and manage student loans. Jay teaches workshops across the nation and is well known. This is event is a great opportunity for law students and young lawyers to gain some valuable information on how to tackle their student loans and the impact it can have on their legal career path. Additionally, following Jay's presentation, Jay will be joined on a panel by young lawyers who have paid down a significant portion of their student loan debt and representatives from SoFi (a company that does student loan refinancing and consolidation). Additionally, after the panel we will be raffling off a $100 Amazon gift card (the first 20 guests to RSVP will be included in the raffle) and a free 30 minute consultation with SoFi. We will also be raffling off a few additional gift cards for new members who join BWL.

However, the fee for non-members ($20) to attend will be waived so long as you pledge to put an additional $20 towards your next upcoming student loan payment. Food and parking are complimentary.
