Founded in 1968 by Algernon J. Cooper at New York University Law School, the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) is the nation's largest student-run 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to advancing the academic, professional, and personal success of Black law students. As one of six regions within NBLSA, the Western Region Black Law Students Association (WRBLSA) represents 37 law schools across 10 states, serving more than 600 current law students and thousands of alumni who are shaping the future of the legal profession. The mission of NBLSA is to increase the number of Black and minority attorneys who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.
