The Juneteenth flag captures the enslaved's emergence out of the darkness and into the light. The flag’s colors are red, white, and blue, mirroring the American flag.
Using the same colors signifies that the formerly enslaved people and their descendants were and are American citizens. The five-point star represents Texas, where Juneteenth
